The Best Streaming Services to Optimize Your A/V Quality

Now that you’ve optimized your home theater setup, It’s time to start streaming and see what it can really do. It can be very easy to set up high-definition tiers for your preferred streaming services depending on your preferences.

Each of these services produces exclusive content, and your mileage may vary. You may already have one, none, or all of these services, so let’s take a closer look, starting with movies and TV.

Film & TV

Netflix

Netflix Premium costs $22.99 a month for 4K and spatial audio. Netflix has one of the largest libraries in streaming, so you’re sure to find something for everyone. Each of their original series is available to stream in 5.1 surround sound.

Hulu

Hulu’s visual fidelity depends on your bandwidth, a great reason to upgrade your internet. Without ads, Hulu costs $17.99 a month, and includes some live TV channels as well. Good for binging, great for game day!

HBO Max

HBO Max’s Ultimate Ad-Free plan features commercial-free viewing for $19.99 a month, 4K Ultra HD support, and Dolby Atmos immersive sound. HBO specializes in high-quality dramas, action movies, and prestige TV.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video creates original content, which all supports 4K and Dolby Atmos, but it also hosts a suite of other paid and free streaming shows with varying fidelity. The $15 monthly Prime membership cost includes 4K and Dolby Atmos on Amazon Prime Video.

Paramount+

You need to upgrade to the Paramount+ With SHOWTIME plan for 4K and Dolby Atmos viewing, which costs $11.99 a month. Paramount + offers a wide range of content from a tried and true brand.

Disney+

Disney+ premium offers 4K and Dolby Atmos viewing for $13.99 monthly. Disney+ is the home for all things Disney. Movies, documentaries, old shows- everything’s here, straight from the vault, in the highest quality possible.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV allows you to watch 4K live TV with AI-enhanced bitrates. $72.99 a month sounds like a lot upfront, but when you consider that YouTube offers over 100 channels of live TV, it’s a fraction of the cost of traditional cable.

New subscribers only pay $49.99 a month for their first two months.

Music

It’s difficult to migrate your playlists from one service to another, but let’s consider all the options, because your Bang & Olufsen speakers work with everything

Amazon

Amazon Music with your Prime subscription doesn’t have Hi-Fi audio. Instead, you’ll have to pay $11.99 monthly for Amazon Music Unlimited.

Apple Music

Apple Music’s basic tier comes with lossless audio and Dolby Atmos surround sound. You can also Airplay to many speakers- which allows lossless audio streaming more than bluetooth.

Spotify

Spotify doesn’t have high-fidelity audio or Dolby Atmos. Every song on the platform is compressed in a lossy format, leading to slightly reduced audio quality.
